At 8 p.m., we called over the last group of kids we saw on the street and unloaded our bowl into their bags. Hey, mom and dad won't be tempted now. The candy our 3-year-old collected earlier in the day from a community event was also in the bowl. We probably won't get away with that next year, so we're going to be hosting our own candy-free parties. I don't mind candy on special occasions, but a mountain of candy that lasts for weeks?
